NJ Alliance FC Takes Its Game to Brazil in 2026

NJ Alliance FC is charting bold new territory. Founded in 2012 in Lyndhurst, New Jersey by entrepreneur and club president Edgar Guardia, the club began modestly in the B Division of the Garden State Soccer League (GSSL) and has steadily climbed through the ranks of U.S. grassroots soccer.

Over the years NJ Alliance FC expanded its footprint: it now fields multiple men’s teams and a women’s side, competes in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) and previously joined the NISA Nation (a fourth-tier U.S. league) as a founding club in 2021.

Now the club is ready to take a major step forward: in 2026 the team will tour Brazil, facing professional clubs in one of the world’s most iconic soccer nations. This is more than a preseason trip — it’s an opportunity for the players to test themselves against top-tier competition abroad, gain global exposure, and potentially catch the eye of scouts.

“Facing top-level competition abroad will push our players to improve and inspire them to reach new heights,” said Edgar Guardia. The Brazil tour embodies what NJ Alliance stands for: growth, ambition, and giving players the best possible platform.

As the club prepares to represent New Jersey on international soil, its history of community roots, league progress and developmental focus combine to make this journey an unmistakable statement: NJ Alliance is ready to expand its footprint, challenge itself, and elevate its players.

New York Soccer Ledger

New York Soccer Ledger is the independent voice of the city’s youth and amateur soccer scene — the stories no one else is telling. We shine a spotlight on the players, coaches, clubs, and communities driving the beautiful game across the five boroughs, from scrappy park pitches to college showcases and semi-pro rivalries. Our coverage is raw, real, and unapologetically local. We celebrate passion and performance, challenge the politics that hold the game back, and give power to the people who make New York soccer matter. Because the city doesn’t sleep — and neither does its soccer.
